Maintains control records/suspense on incoming correspondence and action documents. Follows up on suspense items to ensure timely reply/action. Receives telephone calls and visitors; schedules appointments, conferences and meetings as appropriate. Maintains calendar of appointments and keeps the EEO Manager informed of pending matters, and deadlines. Responds to requests for information from the Office of Resolution Management, is responsible for responding and coordinating document requests regarding EEO complaints and the Office of General Counsel. Gathers information from employees via phone, email or face to face interactions, which may be of a confidential nature. Maintains confidentiality of these documents and any privileged conversations. Performs analysis of Agency by reviewing policies and practices that inhibit the employment opportunities of minorities, women and individuals with disabilities. Identifies effective solutions to eliminate agency barriers and enhance the employment opportunities of minorities, women and individuals with disabilities. Arranges for conferences, mediations, meetings, seminars, and training sessions by contacting participants and explaining the purpose of the meetings. Responsible for scheduling and securing mediators, maintaining electronic and hard copy files of various EEO information such as EEO complaints and reports. Develops and maintains EEO related databases. Develops segments of analytical reports, develops background data for evaluation, researches official documents, maintains complaint case files and provides support to the overall complaint process. The selectee will be required to attain certification as a mediator via the Department of Veterans Affairs Basic Mediation Skills training program and will be required to participate in the agency's Alternative Dispute Resolution program. Under the guidance of the EEO Program Manager, the selectee makes arrangements for investigations/formal hearings with regard to the EEO complaint process through collaboration with the Office of Resolution Management, District Counsel and other entities. Performs other duties as assigned and is under the direct supervision of the Facility EEO Program Manager. Promotion Potential:
The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level. Work Schedule:

Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-7 and GS-9 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-5 or GS-7 grade levels, respectively. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. Experience:
For the GS-7 level, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade, GS-5, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. For the GS-9 level, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade, GS-7, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Providing recommendations to the Equal Employment Opportunity Program Manager, assisting with special emphasis programs, assisting in fact-finding and analysis of discrimination complaints, and other Equal Employment Opportunity related tasks. OR, Education:
Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for the GS-7 grade level, you must have 1 full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement. To qualify based on education for the GS-9 grade level, you must have a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
