Electronics Mechanic
The Electronics Mechanic will perform the following duties:
Inspect, install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair general electronic equipment under the responsibility of Engineering Services. Determining components causing malfunctions or invalid readings with electronic equipment. Interprets and applies technical information from manufacturer's specifications, schematics, block diagrams and technical orders. Makes repairs by replacing damaged, missing or faulty components such as circuit boards, transistors, diodes, capacitors, resistors, etc. Maintains the following non-medical systems:
Nurse Call, Facility Security Cameras, Security Systems, Public Address Systems, Fire Alarm Control Systems and associated devices. Test, study, analyze and diagnose the nature and extent of malfunctions and problems and provides the appropriate and effective resolution/repair. Acts as a technical adviser regarding the operation, effectiveness, maintainability and serviceability of all systems. Performs other related duties as assigned. Work Schedule:

Experience:
Certified Electronics Technician (CET) certificate highly desirable at this level but not required. Associate's Degree in Electrical/Electronic Technology with minimum of 2 years of background experience. Background experience in electrical or electronic theory, common testing procedures, use of hand tools of the electronics trade, skill in reading schematics and electronic systems or equipment. Demonstrate ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications, and publications. Performing common inspections of electronic equipment, use test equipment to diagnose malfunctions, troubleshoot to determine cause of malfunction. SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR:

Performs tasks requiring moderate physical exertion, including frequent medium lifting (up to 40 pounds), pushing, pulling, carrying, climbing, bending, stooping, crawling and negotiating confined spaces, as well as occasional heavy lifting (more than 40 pounds) and strenuous exertion. The employee is standing or waling much of the time and must be in good overall physical condition. Physical capability to regularly walk long distances, dexterity and accurate eye-hand coordination and corrected 20/20 vision and accurate color perception are required. Working Conditions:
Most work is performed inside building, usually adequately lighted, heated, ventilated or cooled. Occasionally work may be performed in very cold, hot or unventilated areas, or outside. Exposure to lubricants and other chemicals, and fumes is common, as well as the ever-present hazards of electrical shock and burns, and the physical hazards of electro-mechanical equipment. Exposure to radiation and contaminated or infectious biological hazards may occur.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
