The client has an opening for a Tooling Engineer which will be responsible for designing tooling and fixturing used in the assembly process. The candidate will collaborate with manufacturing and engineering personnel to resolve issues in the shop related to fixturing and tooling. Research options and present ideas to the team. The candidate will design welding or assembly fixturing using solid modeling programs. The candidate will resolve shop issues around tools and fixtures and be able to communicate with management and customers in the planning, scheduling, coordinating, and directing the quality assurance program in conformance with customer requirements, engineering specs, and production schedules. The candidate must have the ability to create Poke-Yoked designs to prevent possible operator errors in positioning of parts into fixtures. There will be approximately 5% domestic and/or international travel.
## Job Requirements
Candidate must have Engineering degree or Mechanical Engineering Techonology diploma with relevant course work and trained in 3D modeling.
Candidate must have experience in tool and/or fixturing design using CAD program (preferably Solid Edge or Unigraphics)
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints and other technical documents
Knowledge of widely used computer system software
Knowledge of Association of American Railroad Specifications
Locomotive Product Knowledge
Six Sigma Trained
Work background in low volume highly engineer product environment
Electrical and Mechanical and Weld knowledge
