Director of Planning
The City of Marion is seeking an energetic, self-starting individual for a full-time Director of Planning.
Job
Responsibilities:
Serves as principal planner and technical advisor to the Mayor.
Oversees, directs, and provides administration, supervision and coordination of the Planning Department that delivers City planning functions, including long range comprehensive planning:
neighborhood, redevelopment, historic preservation, affordable housing, transportation, real estate acquisitions, and short-term planning:
grant development, code enforcement and special projects services.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Urban-Regional Planning or Landscape Architecture.
Thorough computer knowledge of geographic information systems such as Micro Station or ArcView, and proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
Must be able to communicate effectively with a variety of people, in all mediums.
Must have a valid drivers license.
Recommended Skills Administration Communication Geographic Information Systems Historic Preservation Landscaping Mergers And Acquisitions Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
